DG Dancers raise over $3300 at 3rd Annual Dancing for a Cure Fundraiser – April 2017

Our DG Dancers have done it again with the help of parents, volunteers and DG Faculty, Team DG (raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society) raised over $3300 over the weekend our third Annual Dancing for a Cure Benefit Performance.  Way to go dancers!!  Team DG’s total fundraising efforts to date total more than $16,000.  We are very proud of our DG dancers.  Go DG PEEPS!

DG Dancers set to hit the stage with Ballet Jorgen in Sleeping Beauty – Feb 2016

Congratulations to P3 dancer Bridget Crawford and P1 dancer Riley O’Brien for being cast in the Ballet Jorgen production of Sleeping Beauty at the Chilliwack Cutural Centre on Feb 11, 2016.  We hope to see more DG dancers cast in the upcoming Maple Ridge production of the same show on Feb 25….crossing fingers!  Well done ladies!

DG Relay for Life Team raised over $6500 for Cancer Research – June 2015

Congratulations to our DG Relay for Life Team for reading over $6500 in their first ever Relay for Life Team Fundraising effort.  Special thanks to PPP1-4 dancers for donating $700 of their competition winnings and for performing at the annual event.  Our fearless leaders Linda Wong and Miss Rishell lead the dancers to raise funds in several way including our First Annual “Dancing for a Cure” Preview Show as well as a DG Costume Sale, Reindeer Hot Chocolate sales, “Headband for Hope” sales and Recital Flower sales (with extra help from Marie Crawford).  Thank you everyone for all your generous support to help our DG Relay for Life Team realize their goal of helping to find a Cure for Cancer!  See you all next year!!

Studio Director Miss Rishell nominated for a 911 Award – April 2015

Miss Rishell has been nominated for an RCMP 911 Award to recognize individuals or organizations that have contributed to Public Safety.  Miss Rishell’s choreography and organizational skills used to execute the RCMP #SLOW Pedestrian Safety Flashmob in November 2014 earned her a nomination from the RCMP and Richmond Chamber of Commerce.  Awards Ceremony to be held April 29, 2015 at the River Rock Theatre!

DG Dancers participate in the DG Dance for a Cure to Support our Relay for Life Team – March 2015

Pre-Professional and Competitive Dancers displayed their Competition Choreography at our inaugural Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life Fundraiser Performance aptly named “DG Dance for a Cure”.  Over $3000 was raised for our DG Relay for Life Team Fundraising goal.

DG Dancers in the Steveston Salmon Festival Canada Day Parade! – July 2013

35 of our dancers were seen proudly dancing through the streets on July 1st in full costume and Red & White.  We are proud to be Canadian and to be a part of this annual tradition!

Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life – June 16, 2013

Our Company 1 & 2 dancers were invited to perform at the Relay for Life again this year.  Company 1 group “To Build a Home” donated $300 of their competition winnings to the cause in honour of dancer and teammate Jade’s efforts to continue to raise funds to support cancer research.  Well done ladies!

Provincial Honours Performance – May 2013

Company 1 Lyrical group “To Build a Home” was invited to perform at the Provincial Honours Performance at Red Robinson Theatre.  It was a prestigious event and an honour to be dancing alongside so many fabulous dancers from across the Lower Mainland.

DG Dancer chosen as Representative for Performing Arts BC Provincials – May 2013

Company 1 dancer Natalie was chosen for the second year in a row as Junior Tap & Stage representative to the Performing Arts BC Provincials through the Surrey Festival of Dance.  Congratulations Natalie!  Provincials are held in Chilliwack this year.

PEAK Invitational Challenge Champions – April 2013

Company 1 Dancers earned the highest scoring Level 4 Group at the PEAK Invitational Dance Competition with their Lyrical piece “To Build a Home” choreographed by Miss Ashley.  They were invited to compete again alongside Level 1 Ballet soloist Margarette and Level 2 Hip Hop soloist Merrick who all performed brilliantly.  After 8 days of competition and over 900 routines adjudicated, “To Build a Home” won the Ultimate PEAK Challenge and were awarded the highest scoring routine of the competition!  Excellent work dancers!
